If the Government Were Serious...

... about solving the debt crisis here in France, here are just a few of the many things they could do to reform the State, none of which would cost anything:


  • Reduce legal paid holidays from 5 weeks to 4 weeks
  • Reduce the ridiculous number of local authorities
  • Reduce the number of ministries and ministers to 20
  • Prohibit the publication of any new decree or circular unless twice as many existing decrees etc. are abolished
  • Make it much easier for people to set up as taxi drivers and hairdressers
  • Ge rid of most of the "High Authorities" and "Permanent Commissions" which serve no useful purpose whatsoever
