The tree that I was unable to place (http://capeldunn.blogspot.fr/2013/10/can-anyone-identify-this-tree-for-me.html) has now been identified as Harlequin Glory Bower. http://www.stihl.com/792.aspx?idTree=258
Its popular name here in France is 'l'arbre du clergé'.
