Girls

I had heard good things about an American TV series called Girls, the object of much acclaim in the press and elsewhere, and eventually got round to watching Episode 1 of Season 1; Well, all I can say is that if my mother were alive today she would be turning in her grave. It is difficult to imagine boys carrying on in quite the same way. We have certainly come a long way since The Huggetts.

It confirms me in my long-held belief that American criticism of the arts is like the menus in American restaurants, that is to say much more enticing than the fare itself.
