Days of Magic

I tend not to dwell very much on personal events in this blog, but I should just like to record here that these last few days have been pure enchantment. Beautiful autumn weather combined with a rather alarming high (perhaps partly due to the cortisone tablets I'm taking for my sciatica condition!) render everything clear and connected. People on the radio and TV seem more intelligent than usual, normally inaudible church bells can be heard clearly across the fields from the neighbouring village and life appears full of infinite possibilities.

Very shortly, of course, I shall start the slow, steady decline towards mediocrity and slight-to middling depression which characterises a large proportion of my life. But it's fun while it lasts!
