Well done, John!

Well, he did it! Against all the odds, John McCain pulled off one of the most famous and extraordinary victories of all time. Almost alone among commentators, I insisted that he could win. And how right I was!
So it's move over Obama, make way for the Straight Talk express.
The reasons for his success? It's too early to say but Americans obviously liked the possibility of Sarah Palin in the White House. And who can say they are wrong?
