One Thing Puzzles Me, Perry

We are told ad nauseam that the bill for all the bail-outs of recent weeks and months will have to be footed by us, the taxpayers. I have no reason to doubt this, but we are never told exactly how we are going to foot the bill. To the best of my knowledge, no-one has said a word about this. Are we going to pay in the form of mass unemployment? In that case, why don’t the powers that be have the guts to come out and say so? Otherwise I can’t for the life of me see how we are supposed to “foot the bill'”. Nobody has said a word about increasing taxes, have they?

Blame Game

I know it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference, but when blame is apportioned for the ghastly mess we find ourselves in, I’m surprised that credit rating companies such as Moody and Standard & Poor aren’t given their comeuppance. What on earth did they think they were doing, handing out triple A ratings with such gay abandon? And is there anything more sickening than to listen to these venerable institutions talking, in a worried and earnest way, about problems in their “economic models” and “errors of analysis”, as though their real motivation was anything other than naked greed.

As my stepfather used to say: For crying out bloody loud!
