The link is to a rather alarming article by Bill McKibben which I read in yesterday's issue of the International Herald Tribune. Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of what he has to say, which is leaving an awful lot aside but I really am incapable of judging, what concerns me here is that this article is nowhere to be found on the IHT website. It has quite literally disappeared without trace!
Tomgram: Bill McKibben, Why Copenhagen May Be a Disaster | TomDispatch
It is a very alarming article. Even more alarming when you add into the mix developing countries' (justifiable) demands that industrialized nations provide binding commitments that live up to the magnitude of the issue in regard to both their emission reduction efforts AND financial support to developing countries for their (equally necessary!) efforts to take a low-carbon path to their own development. Getting one or the other would be hard enough. I fear getting both will be nearly impossible.
