The Baker and the Postman

Despite the arctic weather conditions, the travelling baker managed to get out and about this morning to the outlying villages for his daily deliveries. The postman, covering virtually the same area, failed to do so. It's an obvious and perhaps snide remark, but could this be in any way connected with the fact that the baker's income is dictated solely by what he manages to sell?

  1. Similar cynicsm applies in snow covered England Barnaby. EG from Wimbledon Station privately run SWTrains manged/manages a creditble service during the snowy conditions whereas municipally owned London Transport District Line does offers a trundling service - far les slick

  2. Jerry, I have changed the title to "The Baker and the Postman" to make it sound more like a fable!
