Traveller's Tales (update)

When I wrote:
"I have no complaints about this as I find the Scottish accent à la Kirsty Wark infinitely pleasing as well as crystal clear..."
I should actually have written "à la Kirsty YOUNG", the estimable presenter of Desert Island Discs. I'm not sure that I've ever heard Kirsty Wark speak.
Whilst I'm at it, two comments on Desert Island Discs:

  • I am struck more and more by how different people are. Who, for example, could be more different from Nick Park than Tom Jones? Or from Alice Cooper than Robert Harris?
  • On the other hand, what they have in common is the fact that they have all done something with their life. Which is rather a grim thought for the likes of me.

I did wonder if we'd been watching the same programmes - Kirsty Wark crystal clear? Not to this southener she isn't, even with my hearing aids in!
