A World of Contrasts

As the pace of modern life becomes increasingly frenetic and as disasters accumulate throughout the world, I can't help noticing that the speed of TV commercials is slowing almost to a standstill. This at any rate is the case on BBC World where it is no exaggeration to say that EVERY SINGLE commercial is shot in slow motion.

What does this tell us about the state of the world?
