And the next President Is...

Things are beginning to look a bit grim for Nicolas Sarkozy, I'm afraid, and the chances are that François "Bull" Hollande will be the next President of the Republic, a purely honorific post with little power to influence events. My original hot tip, François Bayrou, is also languishing around the 10% mark.
Assuming that Sarkozy does get the push, people will perhaps start to remember the good things about his term of office, chief among which was his laudable effort to demystify the presidency, to get away from the notion of the president as virtually an elected monarch.
I've got a horrible feeling that Bull will turn into a mini-Mitterand.
Meanwhile, what's the betting that all those election pledges and promises will fly promptly out of the window come the month of May?
