Climate Change

I met a South African couple yesterday in Saint Jean de Losne which, as you may or may not know, is the inland waterway capital of France. They have spent the last three or four years travelling on the rivers and canals of Europe and told me how much the water level has dropped everywhere over the last three years. Whole sections have been closed for months at a time and it is getting more and more difficult to find places to tie up, so shallow has the water become.

Close to home, almost the entire length of the Canal du Centre will again shut down over the summer months as from May 20th.

These are the facts, Shropshire Lad!
