Perry Como: Some Children See Him

Some time ago I tried to post Perry's version of this wonderful song. I think he wanted to include it in his Christmas Album but perhaps it was considered too "serious" by the record label? Anyway, it didn't make the cut.

I hope you manage to find it through the link below. You might have to fiddle around a bit.

I love Bing, Dean, Frank and Nat at Christmas time as much as the next person but, let's face it, they are at their best when singing about the commercial side of Xmas; they fail to muster much conviction when addressing the true Christmas song or carol. Let's just say they are more at ease in the snow than in the manger, more at home in Las Vegas than at church.

Perry, by all accounts, was a different sort of person and was able to bring total conviction to this song without the slightest hint of mawkishness. In addition to his wonderful voice, I marvel at the superb production values shown by RCA Victor and the producer, Andy Wiswell.
