Strike While the Iron's Hot

It has taken this poor benighted soul the best part of his life to realise, where writing is concerned, the only thing to do when an idea comes into my head is to write it down as soon as possible. An obvious thing to say perhaps, but not for someone like me whose default position has always been to delight in the idea itself but to keep putting back the moment of committing it to paper as long as I can. I think this is called laziness, one of my redeeming qualities. The trouble is, the longer I wait the staler, more trivial and inappropriate the original thought becomes. If you could just see the number of posts I have started, never to complete, you would probably prefer not to.
