Exciting Times

What is the typical state of mind of your average website? I would say it is one of perpetual excitement. The young geeks (average age 12.5 years) infesting these sites are rarely pleased, occasionally proud, sometimes thrilled, but always excited about something. In particular, they are "excited" about the prospect of being bought up by the likes of Google, Microsoft, Yahoo!, Adobe, etc.

Well, I suppose if someone offered to buy up this blog I'd be excited too. But also somewhat surprised.

In the meantime "excited" is becoming an exceedingly annoying buzzword.

Incidentally, Buzzword happens to be the name of a breathtakingly beautiful word processor which has just been bought up by Adobe (the original developers must be very excited). For those of us familiar with the likes of MS Word there is very little in the way of a learning curve, but at the same time Buzzword succeeds in making virtually every other word processor that ever breathed look cluttered and cumbersome. It is currently in not-very-private beta. If you would like to sign on, go to http://preview.getbuzzword.com/?s=true
