Getting Tough with the Banks (2)

Another thing I find particularly infuriating in all these calls for action against the banks, is the tough talk about not letting executives “walk away with large cash bonuses”. Small or medium-sized cash bonuses are OK then?

Either the banks have behaved so abjectly that any talk of bonus is ludicrous or there is at least a case to be made for paying some sort of bonus but the banks are quite incapable of making that case. Either way, it doesnt say much about the competence of the erstwhile Lords of Finance.
