Ideas Man

In a frenzy of creative inspiration of which Leonardo da Vinci would be proud (incidentally I see a new self-portrait of him has recently been discovered, though I’m bound to say it doesn’t look particularly new to me), where was I? Yes, I’ve come up with an idea for my blogs. There’s a neat application available at WWW.apture.com which makes it very easy to insert a ready-made reference or explanatory note in your blog. The app is obviously slanted towards the use of Wikipedia et al, and this will certainly come in useful for my other blog when my grandmother refers to some public event of the time. But what’s particularly interesting – again with my grandmother’s dairies particularly in mind – is that you can incorporate feedback from others in a very unobtrusive way. I know next to nothing about the people Gran mentions, apart from the family, that is, but my sisters and cousins probably have some information of some if not all of them. Provided, of course, said sisters and cousins have the good taste, not to say elementary courtesy, to provide me with details!

I’ve included an example of this gadget at the beginning of this post.
