Lockerbie

An absorbing and impassioned debate on BBC World last night: "This house deplores the release of the Lockerbie bomber to Libya". It was notable in particular for an extraordinarily dignified and compelling speech by Jim Swire whose daughter Florence, aged 23, was one of the 270 people killed in the terrorist attack.

The debate was chaired by the irreplaceable Tim Sebastian. This journalist is one tough hombre!

If you can get BBC World on your TV, the debate is repeated today (Sunday) at 15.10 and 19.10 GMT.
