Here is an aphorism so brilliant that I find it hard to believe that I thought of it myself, and yet as far as I know, that is indeed the case:
Somebody once said that there is a limit to the amount of truth one can stand, and I think that is true - up to a point.
And here is another to which I make no claim since it has apparently been going the rounds for years, although it is new to me:
"Is life worth living?"
"It depends on the liver"
