The Seine at Argenteuil

A little known painting by Claude Monet. Note the exquisite brushwork and the subtle way the artist has captured the reflection of the trees in the water. Monet spent many a happy hour depicting water scenes such as this near his home at Givenchy. It got him out of the house as well.

I found myself too overcome by the aromatic evocations for an immediate reply.

What a lot of anonymous correspondents you now have, Mr. Dunn! Just to assure you that Anon No.1 is not this one, and indeed there are probably several.

  4. Yes, I don't know why everyone wishes to remain anonymous. I mean, it's not as though they "have not officially been cleared to comment on the matter" or refuse to disclose their identity because of "the sensitive nature of the question", as they say in the newspapers!
But I'm always very grateful for all any comments, so please keep them rolling in.
