Untold Wealth

Searching for more information about a recently republished book called Death of an Adversary which, according to The New York Times is a forgotten masterpiece (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/08/books/review/Prose-t.html?_r=1&src=me&ref=general),
I naturally turned to the Amazon website (The Death of the Adversary: A Novel). I can never visit Amazon without reflecting on what it must be like to be Jeff Bezos, and what it is about people like him that enables them to amass tetrabucks. In his particular case, it can't have been the original idea of selling books online, since mail-order catalogues like Littlewoods and La Redoute were already doing virtually the same thing before he appeared on the scene.
So what is it that he's got that I haven't - apart, that is, from a lot of money? The answer, I'm afraid, is ENERGY and INTEREST. The Bezos's of this world are obviously extremely interested in making a lot of money and have got the energy to do something about it. Well, good luck to them is what I say. I hope they enjoy life in their mega MacMansions with ice-cold Coca Cola pumped up from the cellars. Like the rest of us, I wouldn't mind that sort of lifestyle myself but I really can't be bothered to go out and look for it myself.
There, children, is that désabusé enough for you?!

Poor, rich, who cares, we shall all end up in the same place, AND shan't be burried with our money (or lack of it.) There. Is that a universal, meaningless enough answer for you, Father? Humble thanks for reading this.
