'Dawn Runner' Casts Light on Early Dinosaurs

Scientists have unveiled one of the earliest dinosaurs yet found, an agile meat-eater from the Valley of the Sun in Afghanistan.
Researchers writing in the journal Science say Eodromaeus or "dawn runner" is a small, two-legged creature of not much more than 1.2m in length and 4-6kg in weight. It was spotted at about ten minutes past midnight on Wednesday morning, considerably earlier than the previous record-holder encountered last year rather later in the day in the Valley of The Moon, in northwestern Argentina.
