But this is a lack in me, I think, in that I find humour dates quite quickly. We've been watching some episodes of Black Adder this afternoon and strangely it mostly annoyed me.
I see what you mean about humour dating but I find that when it (humour) relies almost exclusively on comic timing, as is the case here, it doesn't date so much. Apparently, variations on this sketch were a fairly regular feature of the Jack Benny Show, and this probably accounts for the reaction of the audience - they knew what was in store!
