The Man Booker International Prize

I see that John le Carré, too, wants his name to be withdrawn from the list of 13 finalists for the Man Booker International Prize. Like me he is "enormously flattered to be named as a finalist of the 2011 Man Booker International Prize." But like me, too, he does not compete for literary prizes, though for slightly different reasons, and has asked for his name to be withdrawn.


But I must say I could have done with the prize of £60,000.
