Elaeagnus Umbellata

I always thought that the scent of broom was the most evocative of all flower and shrub fragrances, but as we were out cycling the other day I was overwhelmed by the subtlest and most elusive of smells, no sooner carried to us by the breeze than it was snatched away from us. We eventually managed to track down the shrub which, after a little bit of detective work, we identified as the oleaster.

The fruit is said to contain between 7 and 17 times more antioxidant than tomatoes.
