The Horse Show (UPDATE)

Does it work now? Was it worth it?

I don't know what my children's generation will make of this. Personally, I find it as funny as when I first heard it 50 years ago. It captures perfectly the snobbery, chauvinism and faint racism that characterised BBC sports programmes at the time!

    1. That's very strange. I wonder what I did wrong. I'll have to look into it.

Francis Urquhart! The link didn't work for me so I thought I try a quote from the former British Prime Minister! Sorry to be cryptic!

An afterthought, it might be a good idea to "put a bit of stick about" to those bureaucrats at google for the failure of their lnk.

    Lots of anons about today!
And on that subject I feel bound to just mention that I, the first anon on this list, was denied my usual profile of EastAnglian. Apparently you don't "know" me .....

    Ah yes, the link!
So glad to see you put that stick about to good use.
A very funny skit, and judging by the sort of stand-up comedy still to be seen in this country (I'm thinking particularly of Hugh Dennis) I think it'll last. But the problem with your descendants, Mr. Dunn, is that English isn't their first language so I do wonder if the finer nuances of accent and snobbery might escape them?
    Come in Mme Dubai .......

I did find it funny! Probably missed some, but on the whole, I believe I got it! Aunt, I can regognise English accents rather well --can't imitate them, though because I have... well, a French accent which I cannot get rid of in the first place, but I do get the nuances!
    Love,
