It's fortunately not too often that mad camera angles totally ruin a programme for me, but sadly this (Divine Women) was one of them.

By contrast, watch Mary Beard's 'Rome', which is like a breath of fresh air as well as being very well presented. She really can't help her teeth or occasional gurning expressions, but being so relaxed and informative makes her one of the Top 10 presenters in my book.

  2. I'm afraid Mary Rome's Beard is a bit too late in the evening for me!

Tsk, no excuse whatsoever, Mr. Dunn.
Haven't you got that listen again contraption on your all-singing computer?

Seriously, this is a cracking series which has just begun. As was her series last year on Pompeii.

But I have to hand it to you regarding the rest of the scheduling. btw, you missed out the Hairy Bikers .....

  4. That's a good idea. You recommend it, then? I suppose she does the regulatory amount of prancing and lounging about in front of the camera?

      Not too much prancing.
Zipping along the Apian (sp?) Way on her bike is more her thing.
And she wears interesting/sensible boots. None of this teetering around in high heels.
Any irritating camera moments are the fault of the producer and camera team, not that of the presenter.
