A beautiful afternoon here in Paris so I wander down to a local café and sit out of doors intent on writing something for this blog, but as usual my mind goes a complete blank when I try to think of something to write. So much easier to sit back and watch the people in the street.
Yesterday, Anne, Julia and I spent the day in the little medieval town of Provins about 90 minutes by train from The Gare de l'Est, quite the nicest of the Paris stations. Hard to believe that Provins was once the third largest town in France, after Paris and Rouen. It owed its prosperity to the Champagne Fairs of the Middle Ages. We treated ourselves to a medieval lunch accompanied by medieval music, pre-recorded thank goodness.
The French tennis open is now in full swing so I should think all the British contestants are now safely eliminated by now, with the possible exception of Andy Murray.
A professional blogger is one who keeps blogging even when he has nothing to say.
