Pointless

Pointless is a British television quiz show with an interesting twist. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions, with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature, and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. Contestants seek to find correct answers that were given by as few of the survey subjects as possible ("points"). Each round is won by the team with the fewest points. "Pointless" answers, given by nobody, score zero points, the best score.

If you can follow that: Supposing you had to select a John le Carré novel hoping to elicit the lowest number of answers - what would you choose?

I have read all his books and I know my choice. I can almost guarantee I would get 0 points. What would your answer be - without benefit of the Internet of course?

  1. This is indeed a pointless game and drives me to strong drink, though another in this house loves it.

  2. I daresay you're right Smoc, but as a matter of interest which book by John le Carré would either you or Mike choose as the most unlikely other people would select? That is to say, from the books you happen to know without consulting thr internet?
